I bought this phone because of great results from using Motorola products for more than 30 years with never an issue.

The only problem with this phone is with answering a cell call. When pressing the cellular key to answer a call the display will read call ended. Press again and the display will read call on hold. Press the third time and you are able to answer the call.
I called Motorola customer service and the lady listened to my problem and spoke with tech support to determine that my phone had a sofware problem.
She called me back twice to verify the problem and then informed me that they would exchange the phone. She then asked for my email address so that she could forward instructions for making the exchange.
That was on 02/08/2010 and as of 02/13/2010 I have heard nothing from her even though she has my phone number and email address.
I have tried several times to call back and always get to the recorded message asking me to hold as all their customer service representatives are assisting other customers.
I have waited on hold for up to 30 minutes and have not been able to talk with anyone yet.

BEWARE that this product will let you use your bluetooth headset on incoming landline connections ONLY. There is no way to dial out and use a headset (bluetooth or wired — there are no external connectors on the unit).

If only I had read Ivan’s review BEFORE I bought this phone. I usually check the reviews first, but was “lazy” this time and just bought it. I have a “pay as you go” cell phone service, and therefore was not interested so much in the “make cell phone calls from your home phone” feature (need to save cell minutes). I WAS, however, very interested in the bluetooth “hands free” headset feature. This phone seemed like a perfect solution to be able to talk 100% hands free via a bluetooth headset, and that’s why I bought it. If this is your reasoning as well, and you have not yet purchased this phone, then as Ivan said, DON’T buy it.
This was my experience. I used a bluetooth headset which I had confirmed worked perfectly with 2-3 different makes/models of cell phone. After some trial and error, I was finally able to get it to pair with the Motorola base on bluetooth channel 1. I activated the headset, saw that I had a steady bluetooth light indicator on the Motorola base (indicating that the device is paired correctly), and proceeded to push “talk” on the handset. No sound whatsoever through my bluetooth headset. Put the B802 handset to my ear – perfect dial tone. I disconnected, re-connected, re-paired the devices, powered down the motorola base for 15 seconds (as per instruction manual)….I tried any and everything I could think of. Called the support phone # and even they told me that the bluetooth headset functionality only worked for incoming calls, not outgoing (can u BELIEVE that bs?). If it’s only going to work for 50% of my calls, then shouldn’t they SAY that on the box? or in the instructions? or charge less for the phone?!??
I then proceeded to use my cell phone to call the home phone. Again, the bluetooth headset was properly paired with the B802 at the time. I answered my own call, and still nothing from my bluetooth headset….dead silent. Now for all I know some of these issues may have arisen due to my bluetooth headset being incompatible with the B802, but I somehow doubt it. Notice that Ivan above said that it only works for incoming calls via land line. So far none of my tests have disputed this. Remember my last failed attempt/test was a call from my CELL phone (not a land line). The only thing I haven’t done is test an incoming call, specifically from a land line to see if that works. (But) At this point, I don’t really care if it works for incoming landline calls or not…..it FAILS miserably in too many other areas. I’ll be returning it asap. Hope this helps somebody.
PS > Oh yeah, other than the totally crap-stained bluetooth headset performance, it’s actually a really neat home phone (lol). Very slim, attractive little handsets, seems to keep a really good charge…etc…
